conditions we are currently experiencing. Only the second day of our
cruise, and we have encountered a Force 11 gale on our way to the
Azores. It is worse than the one we got on Oriana in the Mediterranean -
in that we are heading directly into it and the seas are much bigger.
The Captain has slowed the ship right down for passengers comfort. Our
biggest problem really is that this ship is NOISY - creaking and
groaning with every wave, not like Oriana at all.
EDIT - because of the seas and the need to slow our progress down, the
visit to the Azores (Ponta Del Grado) has been cancelled. We are now
proceeding directly to Barbados
Hey Barry
ReplyDeletegood luck with the high seas matey, I hope your house doesnt go floating past you as I hear there are a few showers back home
Just back from 3 weeks in Florida here and the weather was great
All the best for 2011, Dave, Helen & Amber
Sorry to hear that you missed the Azores and experienced gale force seas. That is a long trip across the Atlantic without a port of call.
ReplyDeleteWe loved the Azores, but missed Bermuda (the reason for the cruise), however, unlike you, our ship was able to go around the hurricane (to Boston in lieu of Bermuda).
